Mary and David’s wedding had been an awaited event for over 10 years! These high school sweethearts “always felt right to be in love together,” leading David to propose to Mary and start their wedding planning journey.
The pair turned to Disney after Mary’s cousin hosted a Disney Wedding of her own. Between the beautiful space and the “fond memories" that Disneyland had for the couple, Mary and David could not wait for their Disney Wedding at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa!
The wedding day started with a beautiful first-look for the couple. While the pair shared this special moment, guests arrived at Brisa Courtyard where the space transported them into serene, secluded woodlands. Mary and David stated that they had “wanted an open space that provided an escape”. Nestled in pine trees and lush California greenery, Brisa Courtyard provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s very own forest glen.
The ceremony decor was simple and elegant. A beverage welcome station greeted guests to their wooden backed chairs with comfortable green cushions. Opposite this, a strong golden arch adorned with flowers stood for the couple’s “I do’s.” Finally, the space allowed the couple’s “family the chance to experience some Disney magic with the monorail passing overhead.”
After a romantic ceremony, Brisa Courtyard was transformed into an intimate dinner setup. The couple let the space speak for itself by pulling from the colors within the space already. Green accents in the surrounding nature were also seen within the bridesmaids' dresses, chairs, umbrella shades, and floral. Other floral accents included delicate wildflowers of white, yellow, and orange.
The couple enjoyed their night outdoors with food, family, and fun before waking up early to celebrate their marriage in Disney style the next morning: going to Disneyland! Mary and David stated that “riding all of our favorite rides and eating the special treats that were available” was something they won’t soon forget.
