Fresh blooms, pastel hues, and warm weather set the scene for springtime weddings. As we anticipate the spring wedding season, we’re reflecting on the wedding themes that are increasing in popularity and how we expect couples to incorporate these emerging trends throughout their spring wedding.
PURPLE – THE COLOR OF THE SPRING SEASON
From lavender hues, to deeper purple tones, we expect to see lots of couples incorporate the royal shade throughout their spring wedding color palette. We love that purple is such a versatile color! Whether your wedding aesthetic is fresh and bright or bold and moody, there’s a purple hue to match.
We connected with Heather, Floral Designer for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, for her purple-hued floral recommendations.
She shared that, for Spring, “floral trends lean towards a loose and airy feel…very organic with complimentary greenery.”
“Lavender is a fantastic option for couples interested in incorporating purple at their Spring wedding. It includes varieties like stock and roses which grow in varying shades spanning from subtle lavender tones, to those with pink tints and even some with a vintage, dusty feel.”
Another popular wedding trend anticipated to be all the rage this spring are dark statement colors. If this is your wedding aesthetic, Heather recommends, “dark shades of plum and eggplant colored floral like mini calla lilies and ranunculus are beautiful in bold and dark arrangements, but also when paired with lighter shades of floral.”
And, if you love a traditional royal purple, “lisianthus or delphinium are great flowers to represent this regal hue,” according to Heather.
FLORAL – A CULINARY TREAT
Speaking of floral, spring is a perfect time to incorporate floral details throughout your wedding menu. This colorful, and seasonal element brightens any dish and celebrates the Spring season in an authentic way.
Whether it’s floral inspired cocktail, a garden themed menu, or even an interactive station like a salad wall – there are many creative ways to celebrate the season through food!
CHARMING OUTDOOR RECEPTIONS
Spring is a lovely time to be outdoors! Mild temps and sunny skies make for an ideal wedding backdrop. With that, we expect to see more couples opt to host their wedding receptions in an outdoor venue.

Finally, a wedding trend that we anticipate to be incredibly popular this Spring is non-traditional wedding entertainment.
We know couples are looking to break the mold and surprise and delight their wedding guests through unique and interactive wedding entertainment. Especially in the Spring, when more weddings happen the day-time or are hosted outdoors, there’s more opportunity to consider non-traditional entertainment like a caricature artist or a magician.
