Sara & Jabaar’s love story began at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park when the two met at Nomad Lounge. They fell in love quickly and Disney continued to play a significant role in their love story, from their first date at The BOATHOUSE Restaurant in Disney Springs, where they later celebrated their engagement, to their magical Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding.
The couple started their wedding day getting ready in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s safari-style resort inspired by the traditional African kraal.
They knew they both wanted a Disney Wedding, sharing “we wanted our wedding locations to be special. Since we met in Disney’s Animal Kingdom we knew we wanted to get married there.” And so they did, having their wedding ceremony in front of the Tree of Life complete with custom up lighting on the trees around them and lanterns to light Sara’s way to her love.
Sara’s favorite movie is The Lion King and she explained that they are “good friends with Alton Fitzgerald White, Disney on Broadway’s long running King Mufasa” who sang at their wedding ceremony.
Following their beautiful wedding ceremony, the couple joined their guests at California Grill inside of Disney’s Contemporary Resort for a breakfast reception. Sara expressed that for their wedding reception they wanted a location with amazing views, so California Grill was the perfect setting with views of Magic Kingdom below.
Their wedding reception was full of love, laughter, and dancing. Mickey and Minnie Mouse even made an appearance to help the couple cut their cake and take pictures outside on the terrace with Cinderella’s Castle in the background.
But the celebration didn’t end there; Sara and Jabaar travelled to EPCOT for a fireworks dessert party at UK Lochside by way of monorail, but not before stopping at Disney’s Polynesian Resort for a fun picture moment.
Sara & Jabaar capped off the night with delicious desserts and EPCOT’s Harmonious fireworks show. The couple expressed that “guest experience was the most important aspect of the wedding day. Outside of marrying each other, we wanted our guests to have the most memorable time. By the end of the day, our guests were describing our day as ‘a wedding experience, not a wedding.’”
The couple shared that “Outside of marrying our best friends, our favorite moments of the day were Mickey & Minnie in their 50th showing up at our reception and giving our guests a ride on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure after our dessert party.”
Sara & Jabaar’s wedding was full of love, laughter, and big smiles. We feel so honored to have been a part of their beautiful wedding celebration.
