In celebration of the 18th anniversary of Lilo & Stitch, and the official first day of summer, we’re sharing special moments from Leanna and AJ’s tropical themed Disney Wedding at Rose Court Garden in Disneyland.
Taking inspiration from the couple’s favorite Tiki Bar, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, and the feeling of “Ohana” from one of their favorite Disney movies, Lilo and Stitch, the Disney Weddings team was able to curate a wedding experience that felt authentically them.
The Rose Court Garden was transformed into a tropical paradise. Palm fawns and tropical floral arrangements in vibrant shades of pink and orange lined the aisle and adorned the gazebo.
One of our favorite elements from the ceremony decor was the custom flower petal aisle our floral team designed – complete with a hidden Mickey!
Leanna and AJ’s ceremony included many personal touches coupled with traditional elements – Like a hand-fasting ceremony and LEGO unity ceremony.
Leanna shared that the wedding ceremony was her favorite moment, “from riding in Cinderella’s Crystal Coach…to walking out towards AJ and saying our vows to each other. It was so beautiful and so special.”
Following their wedding ceremony at Rose Court Garden, the couple hosted their pre-reception just steps away at Adventure Lawn. The expansive lawn was recently enhanced with hanging lights, a stage, and vibrant green turf, making it the perfect outdoor wedding venue.
Leanna and AJ extended the tropical theme through the food they served during their pre-reception from delicious bao buns and tasty ahi tuna.
The festivities continued with their wedding reception at Sleeping Beauty Pavilion. The bright and airy ballroom set the scene for their tropical celebration.
To create an environment inspired by Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto and the feeling of “Ohana”, we brought in beautiful round wooden tables with wooden vineyard chairs and white cushions. Towering tropical floral arrangements, vibrant fruit displays, and personalized place settings decorated each table. Uplighting around the room enhanced the aesthetic, capturing the romance of the tropics.
The couple shared that the most important aspect of the wedding day was to “have both of our families there together supporting us as we joined together in a partnership to start our own segment of the family.” ‘Ohana’ is a perfect representation of Leanna and AJ’s Disney Wedding.
