READINGS
n. The written material performed by those chosen to speak during the ceremony; can be religious and/or personal
RECEPTION
n. the party held after the ceremony for the first time as a married couple; a meal is often served, gifts are often presented, dancing is often a part
REGISTRY
n. The official list or register where items can be purchased on behalf of the bride and the groom for bridal showers or wedding gifts
REHEARSAL
n. Typically done a day or more in advance, a run through of how the wedding ceremony will go
REHEARSAL DINNER
n. Traditionally follows the rehearsal, a gathering of the bridal party and close friends and family to prepare for the excitement of the ceremony and reception; generally toasts are made and gifts are exchanged
ROOM BLOCK
n. The rooms set aside for the wedding party at designated resort(s) to book for the event
RUCHED
n. A gathered fabric that creates ruffles or pleats

SAND CEREMONY
n. The time in the ceremony when the couple pour 2 (or more) different colors of sand into a vessel symbolizing their lives becoming one; see unity candle
SAVE THE DATES
n. Pre-invitations sent out to let guests know about the date of the wedding typically at least 3 months out or before
SECOND WEDDING DRESS
n. Because one is never enough! Some brides choose to go more formal for the ceremony and casual/modern for the reception
SIGNATURE DRINKS
n. Generally a cocktail, specially created by the bride and groom
SITE INSPECTION/VISIT
n. The time for the bride and the groom to visit potential venues and ask questions in order to narrow down the search and finalize the ceremony and the reception location(s)
